New to scene and just in time for Summer is Nalia Swim, a LA based and produced luxury swimwear label for those who love to make a statement.
Fresh, fun and fashionable Nalia Swim only launched in January month and has already gathered a legion of loyal fans.
Unlike other traditional swimwear lines, which are made to worn only to the beach or pool, Nalia aims to break away from the current confines of swim and can be worn at any time of day or night.
Designer and entrepreneur Nicole Shiraz noticed that there was a gap in the market for eco-friendly, versatile and quality swimwear pieces that were at an affordable price point. Nicole has ensured her pieces are luxurious, yet affordable to her target market (generation Y and Z), an aspect where other brands fail. Prices are incredibly reasonable starting US $79.99 and shipping Worldwide is also available.
“Whenever I was shopping for swimwear, I found it was really expensive because you would be buying the tops and bottoms separately and each is like $45 and up. So I decided that I would sell them as one whole price so customers know exactly what they are paying for” Nicole explains.
Nicole is also hoping to change the perception of swim, as a product that is not just used for the beach or pool but an item that can be incorporated into any Woman’s wardrobe.
“Swimwear is evolving, traditionally swimwear used to be something you would wear to the beach or pool but in today’s generation swimwear has become like a fashion statement.” Nicole explains, “Women are wearing swimwear more and more to parties and events. I wanted to make a swimwear line for women to feel confident and empower women of all shapes and sizes” said Nicole.
Her first collection ‘Tulum’ is inspired by travelling to local Caribbean islands such as Puerto Rico and the Dominican Republic and captures the unique colours of the islands.
Featuring intoxicating uber luxe pieces, Aztec prints and sexy silhouettes all pieces are delicately handmade in limited quantities. Bright and bold, the collection centres around pops of green (the jungle) and blue (the ocean).
Each piece comes with built in accessories (think chains and gold rings) and is designed to flatter rather than flatten your curves. Made with their signature Nylon/Spandex blend fabric, each piece is made to comfortably hug the body and support your shape. Tulum is all about encouraging and empowering women to wear statement making styles to the beach and beyond.
The brand also encourages COVID safe practices with all products coming with an embellished rhinestone mask and there are plans to expand into hand sanitizer spray, beach towels, and beach bags.
With the COVID-19 vaccine recently rolled out, Nicole hopes that once countries start to open up their borders, there would be a spike for people to travel and take vacations.
“At the moment, a lot of my customers are from the USA even though we do offer worldwide shipping. Hopefully this will expand soon when we can all start travelling again,” she said.
The start-up brand has also implemented new technologies such as QR code’s for their customers and is working on further sustainable practices.
