Modern-day Dubai is a burgeoning, yet sophisticated fashion industry. With the largest luxury commercial square in the Middle East, and a growing popularity for style and innovation, the city itself has become the source of inspiration. As an international hub of multicultural luxury, Dubai is the perfect destination where east meets west.
Middle East Fashion Week (NEW) is a public platform on which all-season catwalk shows of talented designers from all over the world are held twice a year.
A young and successful designer Irena Soprano has been taking part in the Fashion Week since 2015 and this year is no exception. Especially for MEFW, Sol Angelann by Irena Soprano team has sewn and performed their “Desert Rose” collection.
Along with the traditional black and white crystals, there is a variety of shades of pink added to the new collection: “The collection is called ‘Desert Rose’. It is not a flower but a fantasy symbol of all the wonderful that can be come across in a desert and my associations with it: gold sends and a new gold colour of crystal base resembling a goldmine; searing the eyes sunny prints, and instantly a deep black colour in strict dresses to the floor – like a night in a desert with stars and comets glitter.
However, the basis of the collection is pink and all its shades to express the beauty of the sky at sunset, crystals in the dresses refracting like the sun’s rays. There is quite a lot of phenomena in the sky, such as a meteor shower, the northern lights and shooting stars. I did my best to show this natural beauty in my collection and I hope it will be appreciated by the customers of our brand” – Irena Soprano commented on her collection.
