Brandon Odom graduated from the United States Military Academy at West Point in 2007 with a degree in history and went on to earn his Master’s in Leadership Studies. After 7 years of service as an Active Duty US Army Officer with the 101st Airborne (Air Assault) and 82nd Airborne divisions, he left the military to become an affiliate marketer.
Why did you choose this career path?
I felt it was the perfect way to have any lifestyle I wanted. Digital marketing and systems allow me to scale my income without necessarily having to invest more time. I get to set my own schedule, work from home, travel when I want, and help others do the same without creating competitors. We all get to win together.
What has surprised you most about running your own business?
What surprised me most about running my own business is the extreme swings between rock-solid confidence and total despair, sometimes in a single day. It can be quite the rollercoaster of emotions. I just have to remember not to make rash decisions, but when I do make a decision, I need to stick to the plan and never look back.
What do you wish someone would’ve told you when you first started out?
To focus on building my personal brand and audience sooner, and to make sure to always invest into cultivating it no matter what else was going on.
