They say that setbacks prepare you for comebacks, and that’s the story of fitness entrepreneur Luke Beastall’s entire life. Luke was a footballer for his entire life and saw his professional hopes dissolve in front of him at the age of 21 by one of the most heart wrenching ways possible. He was scammed from someone on LinkedIn posing to be a recruiter for a professional football team in the United States. Broken but not defeated, he decided to take up an opportunity to train on cruise ships and became one of the top ten trainers within a few years. After developing his skills and confidence he decided to come back and run his own business, Muscle Coach UK.
Fast forward two years later and Luke has yet again overcome adversity. The global Coronavirus pandemic has kept everyone either at home or extreme caution for almost all of 2020 which is an obvious major obstacle for anyone in the fitness industry. Luke was able to keep his business together because of how strong of a community he has built within his clients. They’re not just loyal to Luke, but loyal to their goals and Luke has been right there for them every step of the way.
“Without failure and feeling at rock bottom, you can’t grow as a person. In today’s society we want the easy route. I always preach to my clients I’m like your SAT nav. I can give you the directions and tools to be successful but it’s important you stay in your lane. There will always be setbacks, if you aren’t mentally prepared for it, then you don’t know what hard work truly is. Embrace whatever challenge gets thrown your way. It will never be an overnight thing. Be ready for a long journey, but one thing I can promise you, it will be worth it.” -Luke
Luke believes that success comes from more than just numbers, figures, and business strategy. His number one strategy through the pandemic has been to maximize his output of energy and value to the rest of the fitness community. He’s joined in on lives, Q+A’s, phone calls with marketing specialists, etc and made sure that value is still being circulated amongst the pandemic.
He’s proven to be an innovator in his space recently as well. Luke has partnered with a platform called SimPortal where his clients can check in on their own dashboard with all of their training and meal plans for the week, as well as a text/email system for them to receive weekly updates from Luke. Its versatility with being customizable and personalized not only makes it more convenient for his clients, but can also be a viable option for trainers to use in the near future when he’s ready to open it up to them.
Luke prides himself in using his passion to leave a positive impact through his work and is in full force now that gyms have reopened across the UK.
