There are some things in life, and particularly in business, that you just can’t learn in school. Hamiz Khan is an e-commerce expert and coach who is set to launch an e-commerce training course tipped to revolutionize the industry. Here, he shares three of his best tips that no one will teach you at school.
Find financial freedom.
Many people who run businesses aren’t looking toward the bigger picture. “The point of being an entrepreneur shouldn’t be to take on tons of jobs and work yourself to the bone your whole life,” said Hamiz Khan. “You want to find a way to be financially independent and still have time to spend with family and friends, pursue hobbies, and travel.” Khan firmly believes that leveraging automation is the key to achieving this independence.
Build relationships to move forward.
Everyone knows that networking is a great way to propel yourself forward in your career, but it’s often unclear how to build and sustain these relationships. “In order to become a great networking partner, you have to have something to offer as well as something to gain,” said Hamiz Khan. “It’s common for people to try to network too soon, but no one wants to associate with someone who is trying to mooch off of them.”
Never give up on yourself.
A lot of people give up and quit even before their businesses can take off from the ground. “A winner is a loser who just tried one more time,” explained Hamiz Khan. “I’ve been unsuccessful several times, but I didn’t take my eyes off the prize. Even if your dreams may seem impossible in the beginning, you can make them happen if you keep trying and never give in.”
Business school can do a lot to help you become successful. However, Hamiz Khan knows that there are some lessons that can only come from practical experience or through the guidance of a mentor who’s been in your shoes.
