“It is not war, Stay Calm”, Wasim Akram urges fans ahead of Ind Vs Pak World Cup Clash

India fought Pakistan on Sunday. The history of India Vs Pak goes way back. The two countries love to butt heads with each other on the field. The clash will be their first in this 2019 world cup. The match will take place at Old Trafford in Manchester.

Though the two sides kept it professional, the fans went crazy over the impending match. The social media has become a battlefield where the two fan bases are fighting an online war of sharing memes shading each other.

The tense political situation between the both countries just adds more fuel to the fire. This was definitely the clash of the year and maybe it had more viewers than the world cup final.

Wasim Akram, a former player of Pakistan urged the fans to not lose their calm and enjoy the match. He said “India and Pakistan playing at the World Cup with over a billion audience is the biggest thing in cricket, so my message to both sets of fans is to enjoy it and stay calm.“

Wasim also said that playing is about losing and winning, fans should not inflame the situation but rather enjoy the match. “One team will win, one team will lose, so stay graceful and do not take this as a war. Those who project this match as war are not true cricket fans”, he said.

Pakistan has never won a single match against India in the World Cup, and this time as well, India won the match, making it 7-0 against Pakistan. Wasim Akram played in 3 matches with the Pakistan side, against India in the World cup. He says he doesn’t have fond memories of it because they lost all matches. But he cherishes the feeling that a whole of people were glued to their television screens during those times.

Pakistan have lost matches against West Indies and Australia, and won a match against the host England. Their one match against Sri Lanka was washed out. On the other hand India remains unbeaten in this world cup tournament so far.
