The global pandemic had caused certain disruptions in people’s way of living – from their personal lives to how they run their businesses. It dealt a huge impact on coaches, consultants and mentors. No one is exempted from the repercussions of COVID-19. So, are you a coach, consultant or a mentor struggling to survive in this crisis but faces a huge blow on how to generate more leads, book sales appointments and close clients? If your answer is a CERTAIN YES, then you should continue reading this article. We had an exclusive talk with Matthew J Philips, where he shared three valuable steps to overcome this struggle that you are confronted with and to start generating swarms of leads.
We asked Matthew what his favourite platform right now is for generating leads, as more leads mean more sales appointments and more clients. He answered Facebook and recommended all coaches, consultants and mentors to focus a large proportion of their attention to the platform. What he shared with us revolves around the world of Facebook – how to generate more inbound organic leads, meaning you don’t need to open your bank account for this to work and before you know it, leads are overflowing on your end. Here are the three steps to make this happen:
Optimizing your profile is the key to start attracting inbound leads and clients and wouldn’t we all prefer to attract rather than seek. Matthew makes sure that his Facebook profile is optimized. If you search for his account, it will stand out from the rest of the Matthews around the globe. So, how did he optimize? Well, his cover photo tells it all. It states precisely who he helps and with what he helps with and includes links where he can be reached. We asked him why the links are included in his cover photo. The website is where leads can book a call to have a discussion with him and also a Facebook group where he can nurture his audience, prep and prime them to become leads and then onto high-paying clients.
So once optimized, according to him, it is high time to connect with potential clients with the 5000 allowable slots for friends in your Facebook account. He said, to do this, type your niche followed by “group” in the search bar. He gave an example like, if you’re a fitness coach that predominantly focuses on weight loss you want to join a couple of weight loss groups. Once in the group head over to members that are new to the group. Start adding these people as friends. Add 10-20 per day depending upon Facebook’s limit. Doing this allows you to start building yourself a list of potential clients. Then, start scrolling your newsfeed for 1-2 hours per day (the longer the better) and engage with your newfound friends. Leave a positive vibe in the comment sections such as “Good Morning” or “Great post!” So, we asked, what good could this do? He compared this activity with when you are walking in a street and someone you didn’t know waved at you. The normal reaction would be to ignore. If they continue to wave every day, soon most would wave back. The same mechanism applies to Facebook.
Lastly, everyone has heard of the 80/20 which is similar to the pareto principle – provide value 80% of the time and promote 20% of the time. Matthew shared the 90/10 rule, which is 90% value and 10% promotion when starting on Facebook. So, in his experience, he blasted his new friend list with value along with engaging with them daily for just 7 days. Going back to the waving example. Engaging daily ensures my target market come over to my profile to engage with me. When they do, they see the value and many convert into leads, sales appointments or clients. Attention = income. In the second week, Matthew made $2,500 purely from inbound leads. This may sound a lot of work at hand, but hard work pays off. Just like Matthew’s students who are now making 5 figures per month from organic Facebook strategies alone, you can also achieve this and feel the compound effect from following these three simple steps.
