Studying a subject that isn’t of interest or being stuck in a corporate job that doesn’t boost creativity can make you lethargic to another level. However, it is never late to start something that you love. When it comes to a creative career, age isn’t the criteria. In today’s time, the youngest minds in the game are doing exceptionally good, and even adults are giving justice to the work they love doing. Loveveer Singh, who is informally called by the name Pannu parted ways with Information Technology to pursue a full-time career in photography.
Born and brought up in Gurdaspur, Punjab, Loveveer grew up in an environment where having a secured job as an engineer, doctor, CA was of utmost importance. Following the rat race, he studied and later flew to Australia for his higher studies in Information Technology. Despite giving cent per cent in his studies and work, Pannu did not feel contented. As a teenager, his love for photography saw him excel in the creative field. Leaving his course midway, Singh came back to India to dedicatedly work towards his passion of being a photographer.
Well, opting for the career move has its own set of challenges. Initially, while he took up the projects as a freelancer, his portfolio was rejected by many of the clients. “It discouraged me, but I did not give up. I worked hard and built a strong portfolio in the time of a year. In the initial stages, I did not get big projects, but with time things changed for the good”, said Singh. He further revealed that photography became his full-time profession as he built a strong clientele from different parts of India. Being self-employed has improved his flexibility towards work and has even boosted Loveveer’s creativity and productivity.
The 25-year old in his young career has captured scenic shots of nature and has associated with many small-scale brands for photography and videography projects. A majority of the pictures and videos from his portfolio show the soothing places and unusual locations like rivers, trees and vacant forests.
