Nowadays music artists make songs in a minute’s time, freestyling from start to finish, and then straight to Spotify. The new cool thing to do today is make music. Everyone wants to make music, travel, and perform. But often time with music production being at an all-time high, we often lose substance in music and over saturation takes place. 21-year-old rapper Lor Sosa took a different route, and that why he’s seen different results.
“My ambition is to gain more respect for the musical side of what I do,” states Sosa in an interview with The Hype Magazine. “In Hip Hop there’s been a lot of trickle in from Alternative Rock and Indie artists over the past few years. You can hear it with artists like Lil Uzi and Juice Wrld. I thought that sound was interesting, and I wanted to embrace the challenge of pairing Hip Hop with a more harmonic-type music. I want to push that boundary and cross genres while also telling a dope story…” he continues.
Due to Sosa’s due diligence and care for making good music, he was able to break through the local scene with songs like “Blink” as well as “Lor Bush.” This would propel Sosa as one of the more promising artists from Maryland. With only three songs out, Sosa has still managed to get over 2.8 million views in total across his YouTube channel.
