Based out of Los Angeles, CA, Jessie Sims is a famous social media influencer who has many platforms. One of her notable platforms is YouTube, where she regularly posts funny and engaging videos to her fans and has amassed over 180k subscribers. When she began using this platform, Sims used to edit her videos with Final Cut Pro software. But as her channel grew over time, she focused more on producing high-quality videos, and hired an editor for her to focus on content creation for the other platforms.
While growing up, she was exposed to many YouTubers and her most favorite ones were Shane Dawson and Jenna Marbles. Also, considering the journey on YouTube, she took a long to develop a decent fan base. She only experienced a greater growth of her fans in the last two years after she started to produce dares, pranks, and clothing hauls content.
According to Jessie Sims, YouTube gives her a chance to be her real authentic self.
“I love that I can be my authentic self. I know it’s not always the best method of growth but I’d rather post content that is true to who I am than posting a bunch of videos that are all very similar just to get views,” says Sims.
She admits that being in this industry is challenging, but her focus is providing her audience what they desire while staying true to herself. Sims finds that her willingness to take risks on social media and create bold, creative content across all platforms sets her aside from the average influencer.
Of the different videos on her YouTube channel, she enjoys creating dares and public pranks videos most. Jessie’s most popular video on her channel is “Best Pause Challenge on Youtube! Best Friends Prank Wars,” which has gained a whopping 3.5 million views. She is also into vlogs, muk-bangs, and shopping hauls, however, the COVID-19 restrictions have made it harder to create content in her niche.
She admits that creating certain content is more challenging but defining in finding new ways of making content creatively. Jessie also has some words for those aspiring to join this industry; she says that they should buy a Canon G7 X camera as it’s the best for content creators. This is because it is lightweight and portable, which makes it easier to store or carry in the bag. She adds, “Ring lights are also a must!”
