Inspired deeply by their Indian roots, Tech Panda & Kenzani did not hesitate to collaborate in order to create an unpredictable wave of tracks that caught the avid listeners by surprise. Given their experience with electronic and Indian classical music, their instincts guided them to join the two poles together creating magical tracks such as ‘Khoyo’, ‘Poetic Love’, and ‘Lost in Love’ to name a few. Listeners and critics alike applauded the duo’s efforts because it brought feelings of nostalgia which has been rare during this decade of music.
The duo has released over 20 singles in the past 6 months, out of which approximately a dozen songs have their signature ‘Abstract Indian Electronica’ sound. One such track is ‘Duniya Sari’ which was a surprise on every note. Classic jazz magic paired with raw Rajasthani vocals showed the duo’s class act of pure experimentation. Another such recently released single is ‘Svara’, a word in the Sanskrit language, which is the ancient Indian concept about the complete dimension of musical pitch. The track aims to transport the listener to an abstract world using Indian classical vocals paired with deep electronic sounds.
“Appreciating diverse genres and cultures is the key to creating impactful fusion melodies. Being open with our heart and soul when it comes to music has helped us overcome the challenges faced in the creative processes. We wanted the entire world to hear the traditional, ethnic sounds of our country and recognize the feelings and vibe it brings with it. You will hear the Indian instrument known as the sitar in our track ‘Super Naani’. You’ll hear the emotions of the Indian instrument called sarangi in our track ‘Poetic Love’. These are powerful, soul-piercing instruments when used with conviction.” clarifies Kedar Santwani, who listeners know by the name of Kenzani.
“Our vision is pretty clear. We want to keep pushing the envelope till we can. We believe the evolution of music is taking place at a much faster rate now more than ever.” explains Rupinder Nanda, also known as Tech Panda.
With 121 languages spoken in India, Tech Panda and Kenzani realize the potential and sheer magnitude of the diversity in the country. “We have attempted to express as many Indian cultures as possible in our music so far. Even after more than 20 releases, we have just touched the tip of the iceberg. We have a long way to go!”
