The Best Day Dresses for Bank Holiday Weekends

We’re happy to say that summer is on the way. The May Bank Holiday is one of the best weekends of the calendar year and if you haven’t got your look organised, it’s time to get a move on. Now that we’re able to hit the pub garden or enjoy a nice picnic in the park, a Bank Holiday outfit will keep you looking chic from Thursday all the way to Monday. Here are some of our favourite day dresses for the long weekend.

Colourful patterns

With summer settling in, why wouldn’t you whip out some vibrant colours? Colourfulday dresses were made for Bank Holidays and, depending on the look you’re going for, will suit the sunny weather down to the ground. Reds and greens are sure to help you stand out when you’re with mates, while chic multi-coloured patterns go perfectly with a hat, sunglasses and bag. In terms of mixing and matching, filling your wardrobe with bright gorgeous day dresses is a must.

Floral designs

Seeing the flowers bloom at the end of May is one of the most joyful parts of summer. Why not complement them with a gorgeous botanical day dress? There is a huge range of designs that suit all sorts of occasions out there, including multi-coloured patterns. If you’re looking to mix and match, these multi-coloured floral day dresses are a perfect choice. Looking for something a bit more out there? We recommend going for more abstract designs with bold, bright colours. Finish the look off with some white trainers and a chic clutch bag to add the cherry on top of a gorgeous floral day dress outfit.

Formal styles

After the year that we’ve had, it’s no surprise that everyone wants to get dressed up in something snazzy. Finding a balance between formal and informal looks can make all the difference if you’re going to a big occasion. We recommend upping your day dress look by looking for frill details, lace looks or neutral tones to add a touch of formality to your outfit. If you’re just heading to the pub, finding that balance between smart and casual is crucial if you’re going to nail your day dress. The finishing touch? Add some chic pieces of jewellery and you’ll complete a gorgeous day look.

Retro day dresses

There’s nothing wrong with going retro. Whether you’re going for hippy day dresses or more traditional crochet designs, there are plenty of styles from the past to drag into 2021. It doesn’t stop at day dresses either – a chic hat could take your look down a few notches, while some fabulous sandals are well suited to those trips to the country. Whichever style you choose, retro day dresses should be an option in any woman’s wardrobe.

Whether you’re at the pub with your mates or travelling on a Bank Holiday road trip, the right day dress will make or break your weekend look. From floral designs to formal styles, there’s no end to the amount of mixing and matching available to you. Add some chic wardrobe winners to your wardrobe today.
