After reporting more than 1,400 death cases on Friday, the current situations are becoming very concerning. However, the government has also confirmed that more than 5 million have been vaccinated. In addition, more than 400,000 people have received their second dose of the vaccine.
After recording such high figures of death from COVID-19, the country’s total death cases are now at 97,329. Many senior doctors and the British Medical Association have requested half the gap between the vaccine doses.
Meanwhile, many senior ministers of the country will discuss the introduction of ‘COVID Hotels’ for international travellers on Monday. UK’s Prime Minister has also hinted that the country might need more border restrictions.
More than 4,000 patients on the ventilator
After reporting such high cases of COVID-19, the government has confirmed that more than 4,000 patients are on the ventilator. Moreover, this high usage of ventilators is higher than the first peak of COVID-19 outbreak in 2020.
UK’s health officers are also expecting more hospitalisations due to the constant rise in COVID-19 cases.
