An exciting four-goals thriller between West Brom and Fulham ended with one point for each team. However, both teams came into the match scoring for three points. Both teams are currently in the relegation zone, and three points for any points could have been quite beneficial.
However, by the end of the game, both teams had to manage with just one point. The match consisted of mix performances from both sides as the visitors bossed at The Hawthorns during the first time. On the other hand, Sam Allardyce’s side quickly reacted and made a great recovery in the second half.
In the first half, Scott Parker’s Fulham looked full of confidence. Moreover, their positive approach gifted them a goal in the 10th minute. Fulham’s Mitrovic assisted for the goal as Decordova-Reid provided a sweet finish on it. From there, Fulham continued their dominant gameplay but was unable to find the second goal.
In the second half, West Bromwich looked a better side with a structured shape. As a result, Kyle Bartley delivered a first-time finish from six yards and equalised his side’s score. Sam Allardyce’s change in formation surely made West Brom a bit more refreshed. Thus, in the 66th minute, Matheus Pereira delivered a quality finish and changed the score to 2-1.
However, Scott Parker’s team was not ready to give up either. In 76th minute, Harrison Reed produced a fine cross, and Ivan Cavaleiro delivered an amazing diving header to equalise the score once again. For any neutral, the game was indeed fun and full of goals. But, the last result of this game wasn’t any help to either team.
Reactions of managers on their team’s performance
Sam Allardyce started his interview by clearly mentioning that the game ended in a draw that either team never wanted. He quickly admitted that we should’ve won the game, but defensive mistakes cost us the game. He ended the interview by saying that we cannot score three goals every time, so we’ve to play quality football in future.
The visitor’s manager, Scott Parker, mentioned that his team should’ve ended this game in the first half. However, he praised his side’s first-half performance and added that we’re disappointed, but we’ve to move on from now.
