What It Takes To Be Dilawar Singh – An Altruist, Motivator, Entrepreneur

When you see someone successful, you often wonder about their back-story! Dilawar Singh, a sports trainer in Germany has had a similarly outstanding personal journey, which saw him become a successful entrepreneur in his own right. From stressful work weeks to stress-free weekends in Hamburg, Dilawar is today one of the busiest businessman who needs to be at many places at once. Today, Dilawar Singh doesn’t shy away from narrating his life journey and share his experiences with others, in order to motivate people.

Starting Point

Enjoying his weekends in Hamburg, while working as a sports trainer, Dilawar thought about success as something that happened to ‘lucky’ people. He worked hard and travelled a lot for work as well. Amidst all this, he skipped on a lot of family time too, which left him distraught. Therefore, he decided to turn an entrepreneur and improve his life. However, that was the beginning of another struggling phase of his life.

Time Constraint

At the time of starting his business, Singh was extremely busy. He was not aware as to which country he would be traveling next day or week! He just kept hopping from one country to another, attending a series of meetings in between long-haul flights. He usually started his day at 6 am and didn’t stop, even for a meal, till 10 at night. In other words, he was just moving from one day to another, from one destination to another, without enjoying life with his family. The one thing that gave him solace during those trying times was his belief that he could build a life where he could travel effortlessly with his family. One more thing that he enjoyed on these numerous trips was the signboard outside Hamburg, where it is written in Hindi, “Hamburg Mein Aapka Swagat Hai!” (Welcome to Hamburg!), whenever he returned from an international trip.

After the Grind

He used the grind of building a business from scratch to gain the required experience and shape his life as he desired. By travelling across the world, Dilawar experienced different cultures, met new people and built a repository of knowledge that help him succeed in his chosen vocation.
Today, when he can spend quality time with his family and enjoy the opulence he has rightfully earned, Dilawar realizes that he is also one of those ‘lucky’ guys whom he used to see on TV and admire from afar!
