The most recent development of traditional digital vehicular repeater systems are the X10DR long range wireless remote speaker microphone 1st Century Wireless Pacific’s. These have operations that are identical to a mobile vehicle repeater. As the remote user distance themselves from their local radio, all the radio signals from the linked system that is linked to the network mobile two way radio are passed by the X10DR to the local user regardless of the increasing distance. The user is allowed to transmit information from their vehicle’s two way radio up to a distance of 500 meters and more with the X10DR device. The result of which is identical to communicating within a close range of the vehicle.
The Wireless Pacific’s CEO and designer of the X10DR out of the vehicle communication solution, Martin Cahill recently sat for an interview due to the growth and development of the communication device over the last few years. Martin, has always been in the two way radio industry for over 45 years and David Cox his partner founded the Australia Radio Communications Industry Association (ARCIA) which aims to serve as the bridge that transmits the interests of the radio communication sectors to the Australian government.
In the interview, Martin Cahill shed a lot of light on out of vehicle communication devices as he went through the advantages and development of the system developed. He started excitedly by talking about the current number of active users.
“We are proud to say that we have tens of thousands of satisfied users across the globe, these people use our communication system and get product satisfaction mainly as a result of the simplicity of our device. Our device is so simple that we have bypassed the usual cumbersome manuals and technicalities posed over the years by digital vehicular radio systems. This is because of the simplicity of our product and the fact that our system requires little to no manual to guide its operations. It can be used by anybody without having to bother about complex rules and manuals. Our trademark is Powerfully Simple and it encompasses all we do. We give the solution in the simplest way and this is the major reason we leave our radio users satisfied.”
He went further to explain some of the years long problems of two way radio innovative inventions which the X10DR has solved effectively.
“The major issue with the mobile two way radio since its inception by Motorola some 70 years ago was how to communicate when one is out of the vehicle. How to transmit signals and information over long distances. Most of the solutions offered over the years were quite short termed as they only brushed along the issue but didn’t solve the problem. This solution that others have bypassed for a long period of time is what X10DR has come to offer since 2012, when it was invented.
X10DR has bypassed the usual radio base increase in financial investment structures, the purchase of simple radios that can be handheld easily to aid communication when within close distance but not effective within long distance range by its innovative frequency hopping and spread spectrum RF design. This design allows communication up to 500m distance and has risen over the last 8 years to become the standard of out of vehicle communication solutions. In 2020, we are making smarter designs that in certain settings can cover up to 800m or 2700 ft which is even further than the normal distance one would choose to walk before moving a car.”
At this point, he joked that maybe this shouldn’t be encouraged as a result of the Covid19 virus sit at home lockdown times around the world. He continued,
“They are called EX-TEN-DER, phonetic just like car plate numbers. This is because X10DR is an out of vehicle extender!”
X10DR is available from distributors and professional radio dealers throughout the country and on-line at the X10DR Global Store (www.x10drglobalstore com). Further information can also be found at such site as: www.x10dr.com
