Tomas Soucek’s double goals after cancelling Wilfried Zaha’s goal helped the West Ham climb to 4th place in EPL. Chelsea’s loanee Michy Batshuayi was also on target for South London side, but West Ham always had the upper hand throughout the game.
After this win, West Ham United has moved to fourth place in the English Premier League table. Moreover, their winning record in 2021 so far is still at 100% in all competitions.
Roy Hodgson’s team started the first half excellently, and Wilfried scored the first goal in 3rd minute of the match. However, the visitors were quicky to reply, and Tomas Soucek scored a bullet header in 9th minute.
The Cezch Midfielder didn’t stop there, and in 25th minute, he gave lead to his side through a close-range finish. From there, Crystal Palace dropped their head off and didn’t look energetic enough. On the other side, West Ham’s Michail Antonio kept hitting the woodwork again and again.
In 2nd half, Crystal Palace looked a bit better side inside the first few minutes. Eberechi Eze and Wilfried Zaha constantly tested West Ham’s defence, but the South London side denied them every time. However, West Ham decided to start the onslaught again and finish the match. As a result, Craig Dawson scored the third goal in the 65th minute.
During the match’s dying moments, West Ham decided to sit back, but Michy Batshuayi fired a close-range finish in 90+7th minute. But, the time was already over for the Crystal Palace to make a comeback.

Roy Hodgson commented on the good points from the match and added that they had a good start. However, they failed to capitalise on it. The English coach also added that first-half’s performance costed them heavily.
West Ham’s manager David Moyes started the interview with some quick praise for his players. He also mentioned that if they had their shooting boots on, they might have scored one or two more. Ex-Manchester United coach ended by adding that his team still needs to improve and keep moving on.
