Q: Many consumers are interested in the science behind wellness products. Can you delve into the scientific principles that underpin some of your flagship offerings, such as the hydrogen-enriched water tablets or the infrared sauna?
A: First, the hydrogen-enriched water tablets. These tablets are designed to infuse water with molecular hydrogen, a powerful antioxidant. Molecular hydrogen, or H2, has been extensively researched for its potential health benefits. When you drop one of our tablets into your water, it dissolves, releasing unbonded hydrogen gas bubbles into the water. Now, here’s where the science comes in.
Hydrogen is the smallest molecule in the universe, allowing it to penetrate deep into your cells and mitochondria. It selectively scavenges harmful free radicals, reducing oxidative stress —which is one of the leading causes of disease — in your body. Often people are confused because they know that there is already hydrogen in water, so they think isn’t all water hydrogen water? The difference between these two is that in regular water the hydrogen molecules are bonded to the oxygen molecule. Because it’s already bonded to the oxygen, it’s unable to bond with the harmful free radicals. This is why hydrogen water is different, because it saturates the water with unbonded hydrogen molecules, which allows the molecules to bond with and neutralize the harmful radicals.
And the science is very supportive of molecular hydrogen. Interestingly enough hydrogen-enriched water is very common in Asia, and has been for decades. Unfortunately it’s still fairly new in the Western world. There have been over 1,250 published studies on the effects of molecular hydrogen with over 90% showing that molecular hydrogen has had a positive effect or result in the study. Both our tablets and our UltraLux Water Machine have been certified by the IHSA (International Hydrogen Standards Association) which is the governing body on hydrogen producing products. According to our testing and certification with them, our Water Machine produces a hydrogen concentration over 3x the minimum amount and the Tablets produce a hydrogen concentration over 24x times the minimum amount, which are some of the highest in the market.
