Thrillers are fast-paced and action-packed stories that keep people on edge due to numerous moments involving fear, anxiety, tension, and other elements. The constant twists and turns in the plot are primary factors differentiating thriller novels from other genres because they compel the readers to continue reading without putting the book down. Many thriller novels also transform into movies due to their riveting storylines and unique plots. Thousands of thriller titles are released annually, but only a few grab people’s attention due to their enthralling and compelling plots. The author’s penmanship skills and ability to develop a story that captures and retains the reader’s attention are primary factors that distinguish best-selling novels from ordinary books. Waterborne by Jason Luke Bennecke is a fast-paced thriller novel highlighting the pitfalls of technological progress and bioterrorism activities.
Waterborne is J. Luke Bennecke’s second novel revolving around the protagonist Jake Bendel and his endeavors to save a city from looming disasters through his intellect. Thrillers typically follow a fast-paced plot where the protagonist must fight against time to save people or cities from apparent doom. Waterborne also utilizes a fast-paced storyline where Jake Bendel must fight against time to save millions of people from genetic modifications intended by Nazi-inspired terrorists. Jake Bendell already has his plate full for completing a desalination plant within the designated period. However, the intensity and stress amplify when terrorists contaminate California’s water supply, potentially resulting in genetic modifications in all citizens. Bendell also gets injected with the same virus and must race against time to save himself and millions of others. Waterborne helps people understand how a seemingly simple utility like water supply can be weaponized by sinister plans of terrorist groups for spreading chaos.
