We all have our fair share of troubles in life – indeed, life is not a bed of roses. However, whether we choose to become more than what is expected or limit ourselves to our circumstances is entirely our choice. It takes hard work, dedication, and discipline to change one’s life, not letting a turbulent past define oneself. Kelly Rocklein is a creative strategist, direct response marketing expert, and UGC creator-turned-coach who knows the value of these core qualities in transforming one’s life in the opposite direction of the hand they were dealt.
Kelly grew up in a single-parent household, where she experienced financial scarcity for most of her adolescence and early adulthood. Kelly realized the magnitude of her situation from a very early age. She was a ‘free lunch kid’ who saw her mom struggle daily to make ends meet. Growing up, she knew her family’s situation would not allow her to pursue a college education without going into debt.
This was a moment of choosing between continuing to struggle through life or making something extraordinary from what she was given. Kelly chose the latter – she began familiarizing herself with digital marketing, creative strategy, and user-generated content (UGC). She moved to LA in 2016 to pursue her creative dreams on a more professional level. Although she lacked the conventional college education from a distinguished university, she made up for it by continuously growing her self-taught skills and focusing on performance data to offer an ROI to the brands she worked with.
Throughout her ten-year career, she has worked as a video editor, content producer, creative strategist, and creative director for hundreds of brands. She has quickly become a top pick for employers and brands sourcing creative contractors for the return on ad spend (ROAS) she offers clients. Her nuanced, innovative strategies separate her from the crowd, ultimately putting her on the radar for mentorship. She launched UGC Social in June 2022 by popular demand, gaining nearly fifty-five thousand followers in less than one calendar year.
Kelly knows that many young people do not have access to conventional education, so she shares free and paid (yet affordable) resources in her StanStore. What keeps Kelly going is knowing that she’s making this alternative education accessible to others looking to break into the industry. What took her almost a decade to accomplish, she’s been able to help her students surpass in a matter of months. She’s taught over 3,000 students looking to take their UGC business to the next level over the past year. She emphasizes this is just the beginning and shares her lofty goal of teaching one million students. If you’d like to participate in that statistic, join the free UGC Social Community for live weekly training sessions and more.
