Prophecy Onasis is a Las Vegas tech mogul and long time entrepreneur who has built a career in short and long form video with programmatic advertising. He’s the dynamic and creative CTO at Vuuzle Media Corporation
His 20+ years of experience have-provided him opportunities few rarely see. He works closely with Verizon Media’s certified OTT development team and has built a relationship with some of the-most powerful media companies in the world.
He shares some major lessons he’s learned along the way.
The Tech World Is Brutal
From Silicon Valley to Beijing, the global tech ecosystem is notoriously competitive. Prophecy knows this all too well having been in the game for over 2 decades. He says that this isn’t changing anytime soon and that the best method to thrive is to make great products rather than talk a big game.
“I learned you have to fight hard to be-recognized in the tech world. You can not use hype or be a poser. It is not a space where-you get recognized by being a talker with nothing-to offer. Skills alone do not-get you anywhere at all unless you have savvy products-that are useful to the public, period.”
Being A Creative CTO
Prophecy plays the role of CTO at Vuzzle Media but his swag and character are far from the cubicle tech geek that sits at a laptop for 16 hours a day. He’s embraced creativity and implements discovery into his everyday life. He says that is what has makes finding solutions to problems easier.
“I love my profession as I loved playing at the park when I was a child. And I was discovering things then and it had never changed. I just amplified the thought process and magnified how I look at and approach solutions.”
Legacy Is Everything
Steve Jobs, Mark Zuckerberg are two legendary names who have left a mark on our world through the technologies and products they’ve built. Despite this, it’s clear that some of these technological advances have done some harm with their addictive nature. Prophecy says he wants to build products that focus on wellness and leave a mark as well, but not in the way that most do.
He wants to humanize society more through technology and create systems that increase connection and self mastery.
“I want my legacy to be known as a person who wanted to make everyone’s lives to be lived in high definition. To build complicated systems that are easy to use and makes people feel good about having more control in their lives again. Something that has been taken away from us with the follow and like button. To me I want everyone to be left with something I developed that allows everyone to feel relevant. Relevance breeds peace, that is all everyone wants. That’s my legacy.”
