What good is success if an entrepreneur is a one-hit-wonder? There are plenty of young creators who get famous overnight and then metaphorically combust, and nobody ever hears from them again. Lauren Dascalo, however, is different. She has built up an enormous social media following and a digital empire. The best part about her business is that it is entirely sustainable.
Dascalo has always been interested in long-term goals. She’s in it for the marathon, not the sprint. While she got started with her career early as a part of Jake Paul’s TEAM 10, it was up to her to further develop her skills, establish strategic alliances, and hone in on her message.
What is striking about Lauren is that she has had tremendous success on and off-camera while being only 22 years old. She has a natural knack for social media and self-expression. What fans love most about her is that she’s never shy about being herself and is a strong believer in keeping things authentic. This is her first secret to sustainability: be genuine, always.
“It’s very obvious to me,” she says, “if you create a persona for yourself that you present in front of your fans, but that isn’t truly you, you won’t be able to keep up the charade. At one point, sooner or later, you’ll get tired of pretending and come clean, like ‘Oh, I’ve been lying this whole time.’ That’s the exact opposite of what you want. If you’re a creator and want to grow steadily and sustainably, you need to always be authentic. This is something you can always keep up because that’s your true self. You can speak however you like and dress however you like, without fearing that you’re straying from your brand image,” she explains. Lauren upholds her values of kindness, loyalty, and authenticity, and they always guide her toward every new project, without fail.
Dascalo’s second secret to a sustainable business is her mindset. She is always open about her thoughts, ideas, and vulnerabilities. What fans adore about Lauren is that she isn’t the type of creator to hide her secret to success. Quite to the contrary, as when she sees that a method is working, she is eager to share that with the world because she has a solid mindset of abundance, not scarcity.
Lauren has a winner’s mindset. “Your mindset is extremely important! It dictates how you act every day and can make or break you. I’ve learned to remain positive no matter what setbacks come my way. You have to continue pushing through thick and thin; this is what separates successful people from those who give it one single shot and then give up when things get difficult,” she remarks.
For Dascalo, scaling and growing a business is much easier if the entrepreneur already has the vision in their head. “You need to shift your mindset to one of growth. Once you’ve got the full picture in your head, you can go out and execute it. It’s that simple,” she says.
