Meet the One Up-And-Coming Technologies Company Doing Its Part to Combat the Coronavirus While We Await a Vaccine: Introducing PandMedic

As we head into the second half of the year, by now, we’re familiar with the guidelines of living life with a looming pandemic. And while it might seem like a vaccine is a long way off, one technologies company has taken matters into their own hands by creating a solution that will help normalize gathering in groups again.

With the creation of their anti-pandemic safety gate that functions by sanitizing a person’s entire body, checking temperature and ensuring that one is wearing a mask, PandMedic has manufactured a machine that has the potential to service the country’s high-volume areas such as airports, concert halls, shopping malls and more.

Inspired from his own personal travel experience, CEO and founder of PandMedic, Shaul Rappaport decided to find a way to help ease the restrictions and concerns of the pandemic. We recently chatted with the CEO to discuss his latest innovations.

Can you briefly explain what the anti-pandemic safety gate does?

It provides non-contact, full body and hands sanitizing with temperature check, and mask-wearing check.  Once an individual that passes through has a temperature higher then 99.7F or if the individual is not compliant and wearing a mask the gate alarm will go off. If you are pass all the criteria, it will then sanitize your hands, body, clothes, bags and even shoes, so you can enter the “clean zone.”

What inspired you to create the anti-pandemic safety gate?

In mid January I was flying back from China to the Los Angeles and at that time everyone already knew that China had a very contagious virus. When I arrived in LA, no one checked me or any of the 300 passengers that had just walked off the plane for a fever or anything. I immediately knew that the virus would be to our detriment in a matter of weeks to months.

For us to be able to continue and travel safely something like this gate has to be made, similar to the metal and explosive detectors that were added to every airport after 9/11.

Knowing that it will take time to find a cure or vaccine and also knowing that the virus is extremely contagious, we had to come up with a solution to sanitize the entire body for high traffic areas and providing a safe zone ASAP.

How were you able to quickly create and manufacture the safety gate in such a quick response to the coronavirus pandemic?

We started developing and manufacturing smart medical devices in 2016. When the coronavirus pandemic ascended on us, we just stopped all of our new product developments and set our engineers and development team to work on this safety gate to have it out as the first priority.

What do you think the potential reach is for something like the anti-pandemic safety gate?

I think that it’s a must for every high traffic areas of entrance like airports, train stations, schools, hospitals, shopping centers, etc. We even have some smaller practices and businesses that use that gate to really provide their customers the confidence that their business is coronavirus free.

Do you think more tech companies will develop devices/machines like yours?

Definitely, and we encourage them to.  As a matter of fact, we reached out to a few companies to help them develop their own machine, and provided them with the technology and the help of our engineers. For us, the profit is not as important as prioritizing getting “normal” life back as soon as possible.

What do you have to say to those that are apprehensive about being sprayed by a sanitizer solution?

It took us a long time and a lot of effort to find a solution that is based on HOCL. This would be safe for eyes, clothes kids, dogs and even the sandwich in your hand while you walk through. Our solution has 0% harsh chemicals and 0% alcohol. We actually use water, salt and electricity to create our formula for the body cleanser.

Who is the ideal consumer/clientele to purchase the safety gate?

Ideally, it would be for very high-traffic, dense areas but mainly high-volume passenger areas like airports and train stations that are often the biggest sources for spreading the virus.

Also the gate is a must for any senior citizen home due to the fact that they are highest risk and you cant isolate them. They need to see visitors, suppliers coming in, caregivers, etc.

In what other ways is PandMedic Solutions contributing to the fight against Covid-19?

We developed a smart small home use mist sanitizer device that takes a liquid sanitizer and breaks it down to nanoparticles so you can sanitize easy and safely your body, and any surface you want with ease and style.

Also, we just opened our new N95 masks plantation in Las Vegas NV, to ease the demand of N95 masks for our communities and first responders.

What upcoming plans do you have for PandMedic Solutions? Any new products you’re developing?

Besides the smart mister sanitizing device for home use, our main focus is on expanding our manufacturing capabilities for the N95 masks at our Las Vegas factory. The USA is still way behind on stock for FDA/NIOSH approved N95 masks for hospitals and we are doing our best to insure that the States will have the ability to source urgent medical equipment without having to rely on other countries like China when times like this come around.
