Where are you from?
I was born in Ukraine that is where most of my family still lives and for the past 19 years I live in the United States.
What is your occupation?
Entrepreneur.
Founder of Katya Love skincare line & CEO of @KernCosmetics
A woman on a mission, but mainly an unexpected homeschooling not-a-teacher-mom, a private chef to picky eaters, we have four children, and a wife, who is just like her husband trying to run a business during a global pandemic.
Why skincare?
A good skincare is a ritual of self-love that builds an advantageous habit of taking care of your largest organ, your skin. The earlier we learn to take care of it, the longer and better it serves us. Every woman deserves to look and feel great in her body without sacrificing her health. It’s important to use a quality product made with quality ingredients because we soak in everything we leave on our skin.
As a woman and a mother, I care about my girls and my son using products that won’t harm their health or the environment. I grew up in this industry and learned a lot about skincare business from scratch. Literally, I watched my pharmacist mom cooking her lotions in our tiny kitchen, and soaking in her advice. I learned about behind the brand process while modeling but most important things I learned as a consumer. Just a woman who wants to look great, use the best ingredients for the best price and not spend a ton of time on it. It wasn’t easy, so I created my own.
What’s next?
We just launched “No.1” – our new home fragrance essential oil and candle. It became such a hit that I would like to explore this route more. But my daily goal is to focus on the production of the new formulas. It becomes such a fun process when you create something so good, no matter how tough the circumstances might get, you just do it anyway. As a Japanese proverb says: “Quick is slow without interruptions.” So my next step is focused forward.
