People who plan to go through plastic surgery should prepare physically, emotionally, and mentally to anticipate before surgery. It is also vital they have the tools to recover with flying colors. Nicole Psomas is an internationally recognized celebrity physical therapist. While working side-by-side with famous New York City surgeons, Nicole pioneered her preparation and recovery method for cosmetic plastic surgery. She is an expert on some common surgeries: liposuction, breast implants, and breast reduction, tummy tucks, facelifts, buttock implants, rhinoplasty, and more.

In 2019, she launched the book “After the Cut: How to Prepare for and Recovery from Cosmetic Plastic Surgery.” The book’s release gave patients the confidence they needed to go through their chosen procedures confidently and recover faster than expected. Before introducing The Psomas Method to the world, Nicole spent over 15 years at New York Presbyterian Hospital-Weill Cornell Medical Center as a physical therapist. Nicole is a Certified Lymphedema Therapist from the Norton School. Some of her professional memberships consist of The American Physical Therapy Association, National Lymphedema Network (NLN) member, an affiliate member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, Hellenic Medical Society of New York, Hellenic American Chamber Commerce of New York, and the daughters of Penelope.

For the past 15 years, Nicole has enjoyed working with many influential and familiar faces like television hosts, actors, politicians, corporate CEOs, international figures, socialites, and TV personalities. Additionally, she has written educational children’s manuals, including: “Home Exercise Program For Your Child After Heart Surgery” and “Welcome To The Burn Center.” In 2012, Nicole received the Patient-Centered Care Grants for her continued educational kit to guide patients on recovery post-bariatric surgery.

Talking on her challenges, she says, “It took nine years to write this book. I had to overcome many obstacles along the way but it was worth the hard work and effort. I was helping people maximize their results and recovery after surgery to look and feel their best safely. It brings me joy to make others feel so good, and see my methods help them achieve their goals.” Adding further, she says, “My main vision is to spread the word that my plastic surgery recovery method, described in my book, will help patients heal faster and more safely.” Since, the pandemic – out of necessity – Nicole began doing many of her consultations, for pre-op and post-op plastic surgery, over Zoom, FaceTime, and WhatsApp. As a result, she has been able to expand the reach of patients she consults and interacts with, over the past year and a half. She has consulted with people from all over the United States, Mexico, Europe, South America and here in the UK.

Determined to make a significant and lasting impact on the experiences and life of her patients, Nicole can be expected to continue coming up with ways to help them.

Contact Nicole on her Instagram @afterthecutbook or email her at plasticsurgeryPT@gmail.com if you would like to set up a consultation.
