A New Path to Success
In a world which was once dominated by university degrees, stuffy apprenticeships and climbing the corporate ladder, becoming a self-made digital entrepreneur sounds like a much more appealing option. The way the world is going proves case and point that this can be done, and social media platforms like Facebook, Instagram and TikTok are growing faster than ever. Marketing has shifted to be more influencer-based, with businesses and brands endorsing successful influencers left right and centre to get their products known about and popular. This is where Shailen Vandeyar comes in. He is gaining worldwide recognition for his know-how in the industry, and is innovating new strategies for digital media marketing which aim to grow and scale the following of many.
With his digital media consultancy firm, VG Media, he is aiming to shape the future of marketing, and assist various media entities, and creators, with strategies and concepts that lead to their substantial growth and consequent success. So where did it start? In 2019, Vandeyar saw the way marketing and consumerist culture was shifting and decided to set up his own TikTok account. He thrust himself into the social media world, and realized that there was so much he needed to learn in order to have a chance in the industry. Today, just one year later, his account @Laugh boasts 1.2 million followers and over 50 million likes. He has learnt all there is to know about growing a successful brand on social media, and is using this information to help inform his consultancy firm and help others achieve success similar to his.
His dedication and resilience to learn all there is to know about an ever-evolving industry has achieved him success, and he is today known as the man behind some of the most infamous brands and creators online. He believes the key to his success is “constantly reviewing and learning from other people smarter than me, showing that in order to be the best, you have to accept that there is always something to learn from the people surrounding you, not matter how far you get. He also preaches to “keep working hard and you will achieve your goals”, an important reminder to never stop the hustle.
