The experiences that can only come from travel play a pivotal role in the growth and development of younger generations. For many, studying abroad during their time in university teaches far more than what could ever be learned in a classroom.
It’s no secret that post-secondary education is a significant financial burden on its own, let alone when you tack on the addition of a semester abroad. While there are many programs in place to support students from low-income households in pursuit of their post-secondary degrees, study abroad programs remain out of reach for many.
Favisbook seeks to make the opportunity to travel more accessible to all students regardless of financial background. To help bring to life the dream of a semester abroad, they are now offering a fee exemption program for all eligible students.
By supporting low-income students through fee exemptions, Favisbook is helping to turn a lofty dream into a reality for post-secondary students around the world. So, what is this fee exemption program and why does it matter? In this blog post, we’ll be covering it all.
What is the fee exemption for low-income students?
Favisbook’s founder Kareem Dus doesn’t believe that financial burden should be the thing that stops any student from being able to take advantage of the opportunity to travel. After much debate about what they could do to play a role in easing the financial stress of studying abroad, they determined the ideal solution.
For students who meet specific fee exemption eligibility requirements, Favisbook is offering their visa appointment services—free of charge. That’s right. No hidden fees, no hidden agenda.
Favisbook seeks to enable students from all backgrounds to take advantage of the life-changing experience that studying abroad can provide. No price tag can be put on the personal development gained from travel, so the team at Favisbook has decided to change the game.
Why does it matter?
If you speak with anyone who has spent a portion of their university experience abroad, they will gladly tell you about the many ways it has changed their life for the better. In addition to making students more competitive job candidates once they graduate, studying abroad transforms students through global skills that cannot be acquired at home. Here are some of the key benefits of studying abroad:
- Increased maturity and self-confidence
- Enhanced network of global relationships
- Newly developed interests
- Enhanced intercultural communication skills
- Improved language skills
- Shifted perspective
