“The PR Lady” of Detroit Building Bridges For Creatives

Denisa Debocci, otherwise known as Denisa Axhami, is a multi-talented author, entrepreneur and community affairs professional based in Detroit, Michigan. Her vision is to build bridges towards greater opportunities for  creatives in the city. She has adopted a nickname given to her by her clientele: “The PR Lady”.

“Travelling state to state was just the start and I paved pathways for artists and businesses alike to connect with in the future. I made a home for my city across the country. I’ve connected with professionals in the United Kingdom that see Detroit as a gem now.”

Debocci has been welcomed to labels, media, and entrepreneurs in London as a promising partner. Together they’ve partnered with mainstream media, such as Viacom, to gather unique, talented emerging artists. 2020 brings new promises, as Detroit and London creatives will soon have an “alliance” as Debocci and her U.K. partners describe. Details remain classified.

As a young entrepreneur years ago she quickly learned the obstacles creatives face: the lack of a platform, funding, and self-doubt. Her goal is to provide what she yearned for at 18: opportunities.

Not many understood me. I couldn’t put my vision to words, so I simply executed what I stated. I stated that I wanted to open doors, but that is no longer true. I built bridges.

Debocci attends Michigan State University completing her Master of Social Work in Organizational and Community Leadership. The university stated she had a “promising future in the field” and awarded her with the Future Leaders Scholarship in 2019.

In the long run my goal is to merge art of all forms with community development. I’ve been told that it will difficult to do so. To change communities for the better through art that is.

Public relations can be challenging and it takes skillful strategies, a creative mind, and confidence. However, no challenge is impossible for The PR Lady.

Detroit, welcome to London.
