Lockdown has led to ennui. It is a slow time for all, and everyone is sitting at home and trying to find new ways to indulge themselves. TikTok is an app that has kept many people entertained. This video streaming app is the second most downloaded app in the world, next to WhatsApp.
To add to its success, there has been a 23% rise in average viewing time between January and March, according to analysts, Sensor Tower. That means people are spending more time on TikTok now because of the lockdown.
The top content creators of TikTok UK, took a valuable step before lockdown. They decided to move in together in a TikTok house. The six best TikTok content creators of UK, Shauni, 19, SurfaceLdn, 22, Seb, 20, Monty, 17, KT Franklin, 19, and Lily-Rose, 20, all moved in together on March 23rd before the country went on lockdown. Together all these creators have a following of 14 million people. And their videos currently reach more than 73 million people in just a week! Many of those followers are even finding out ways to buy UK TikTok followers in order to grow their viewership more and enter the line of competition with top content creators.
There is a similar concept in the U.S, where top creators of TikTok came together and lived in a house. Together they created challenges and sent out positive messages to the viewers. The team of housemates is not just creating video content for entertainment. But they are also sending out inspiring messages to the viewers. They are also spreading awareness about the virus. And following their footsteps, many other people have also started to buy Tiktok followers in order to raise a following to spread awareness about such issues.
The housemates are also part of the project Rise Above. It is a project developed by Public Health England that is trying to promote positive mental health during the lockdown, especially in teenagers. They believe the housemates of the TikTok house can do that.
