Shepherd’s Bush is among the most desirable locations anywhere in the capital. But exactly what makes so many people want to live here? There are a myriad of motivating factors, but let’s begin with the most obvious.
Live Entertainment
Shepherd’s Bush Empire is among the capital’s most prestigious venues, and hosts regular live music and comedy. If you like gigs, then it makes sense to relocate within a short walk of where gigs are held. As well as the Empire, there’s the Bush Hall, a smaller independent venue on Uxbridge Road, which provides plenty of the same elegance. If theatre’s your thing, then you might check in at the nearby Bush Theatre, where new playwrights and actors cut their teeth.
Shopping
Westfield Shopping Centre boasts hundreds of shops and restaurants, as well as a cinema. Thus, if you’d like to indulge in some retail therapy at the weekends, then you won’t have all that far to travel.
Outdoor Leisure
Shepherd’s Bush is home to plenty of green space, including Hammersmith Park, with its tennis courts and Japanese gardens, and Shepherd’s Bush Green, with its playground. There’s also the Queens Park Ranger football stadium, if you’d prefer to watch other people exert themselves outdoors.
Food
The area boasts plenty of dining options, such that people flock from across the city to enjoy them. There’s Belushi’s, a gastropub just outside the Empire, and Endo at the Rotunda, and eighteen-seater omakase restaurant on the top floor of the old BBC television centre, along with a wealth of takeaways lining Uxbridge Road, and a wealth of street food at the market.
Shepherd’s Bush Market is among the most diverse and multicultural places anywhere in the city – there’s a wealth of different cuisine, and a welcome vibe, making it an excellent stopping point if you’re looking for a bite to eat while you’re on the move.
Excellent Transport Links
If you’re working elsewhere in the city, then you’ll be able to reach the office easily from Shepherd’s Bush. There’s excellent links to the underground via the central line from the Shepherds Bush Station, and the overground, too. Access the Circle and Hammersmith and City lines from the Shepherd’s Bush Market Station, which is a little further along Uxbridge Road. Take a train from Clapham Junction to Shepherd’s Bush and you can be there in just over twenty minutes.
