After weeks of teasing the cover art, Veronica Cooper drops new single “Sorry Charlie”. Produced by Cody “Cxdy” Rounds and engineered by Brandon “B Dub” Walker at Icon Studios in Atlanta, GA; this song is an instant catchy success. This was a no brainer after her last single charted to number 26 in all genres (2 in Hiphop) on the itunes charts in canada.
An ol to her ex-friends, Vee apologies for being a friend to people who didn’t deserve it. She expresses in her lyrics that she knows her faults and is sorry for being the way she is but “If you can’t support me, then we should dead it.” She shares her anger about a friend trying to talk to her boyfriend and even questions why they are upset with her after she did everything she could do to be supportive. For a hook which should have been non-sympathetic; the song ends with a subtle “I’m Not Sorry.” Meaning that in the end she doesn’t regret her actions and does in fact still care. She recently posted on instagram some behind the scenes footage of what appears to be the music video.
Born in Las Vegas, NV, this multi-talented rapper is known for switching up her flow and style from song to song. “Sorry Charlie” proves there are more layers to Veronica Cooper to inspect. It is only the beginning of 2021 and she seems driven to take over the soundwaves.
