Dr Lita founder of LosJovenes Clinilogic states “being a clinician, aesthetic medicine practitioner and women entrepreneur, I foresee that there is still a huge gap between availability of skin care products which is effective, has minimal side effects and technology driven”. She further states “that what we are developing is intelligent technology driven phyto dermaceutical for skin care”. This Bhubaneswar, India based technology driven start-up, is working to find viable natural and effective alternatives. Utilizing nanotechnology, the start-up currently focuses on exploring exotic plant sources to produce innovative and niche skin care product.
Overcoming challenges
The biggest challenge for any company is to arrange funding to set up its own research facility. Dr Lita states that with limited industrial experience, I connected with right people who supported me in my entrepreneurship journey.”
Dr Lita credits her mentor’s Dr Mrutyunjay Suar, CEO & Founder KIIT TBI, his team and incubation partner, KIIT- TBI. “The support received has not only included mentorship sessions to improve on our business pitch but also valuable technical guidance to sharpen our pitch impact,” she says. She would also like to thank Dr. Achyuta Samanta, Founder KIIT & KISS for providing the enabling ecosystem.
As an entrepreneur, you are supposed to know everything and do everything, which can be overwhelming, but through all the support from incubation partner KIIT-TBI, it’s all been wonderful and worth cherishing. “In all, the journey of LosJovenes Clinilogic has been worth every hurdle so far!”
The start-up is currently supported by and funded by BIRAC’s Biotechnology Ignition Grant. Dr Lita states that “this ignition grant will help us to refine our proof-of-concept studies and future product development”.
