Nowadays, it is pretty common to see people side hustling, having multiple jobs under their belt, and somehow managing to make it all work out.
Unfortunately, the same cannot be said about everyone. Many people start out working on several jobs but end up burning themselves out so much to the point that they have to quit. This has made many people to stick to one job as they feel that it is close to impossible to manage several careers at one time.
Although, there are those who have successfully managed to maintain multiple careers – such as Nadia Najjari, a German-Moroccan painter, a yoga teacher, and reproductive medicine consultant.
As an artist, Najjari focuses on abstract painting, showcasing and organizing several art exhibitions in Germany, Morocco, and the United Arab Emirates. Her debut began in 2015 when she had an exhibition with the Embassy of Morocco at Paris-Sorbonne University Abu Dhabi, Reem Island. In the following year, she showcased her work in The Voice of Art exhibition at the La Parole Art Gallery.
Her yoga career has also been quite successful – in 2019, she was registered RYT 500 Yoga Teacher and a Resilience Coach of Stress Management in October 2020.
One of her careers that she has given the most attention to is her medical occupation, serving more than 20 years in the field of Gynecology with a focus on Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility. She specializes in IVF segmentation to enhance implantation and success, focusing on recurrent implantation failure, recurrent miscarriages, and many more.
What makes her example so unique amongst the rest is that all of her careers demand a lot of time to perfect, and she has successfully countered these issues and now enjoys the luxury of efficiently handling her careers.
If you are someone who has been hesitating on doing multiple jobs, here are a few ways shared by Najjari on how you can juggle several careers with efficiency.
Planning Your Week Ahead of Time
Keeping a close eye on your schedule can make it easier for you to keep track of things even if unexpected events were to pop up and put a dent in your productive momentum.
To ensure that you have your priorities straight, take some out during the weekend and think about what you need to take care of that week. For example, if you have a big event you need to attend on Thursday, you can shift all the important work days prior.
With your week planned out, you will know if whether you are available for any sudden events that might pop up, and you can make a decision after checking your schedule.
Prioritize Self Care
One of the major reasons why people quit investing in multiple careers is because they become victims of burnout which can be both mentally and physically exhausting to deal with.
Always remember to take care of your health first. Exercise can be refreshing after working too long, and taking a nap after working on your other career can boost your brain and level up your productive capacity.
