Soon after flagging off its national level photography contest on September 5, the Indian photography website PixaHive has announced its free Photoshop tutorial for learning entry-level photo editing.
The Founder of PixaHive.com Rohit Tripathi stresses on the importance of free learning resources for photographers by saying that the talent in the industry must be provided with an equal opportunity of learning and growing. “The unequal divide between the privileged photographers who’ve had access to the world of professional courses and the unprivileged ones who were left behind due to the financial constraints is unfortunate. At PixaHive, we aim to bridge this gap by providing equal opportunities for learning professional and free software to amateur photographers.”
PixaHive.com operates from its roots in PixaHive studios at Mohali in Punjab. It is an Indian public domain photography platform which is soon planning to expand its footprints in the global market. The website brings professional photographers from different parts of the world together to share their images on a public domain. Thousands of such images are made accessible for the users to browse and download for different purposes without worrying about the legalities.
The photographers get to form their community by interacting with their peers on the website. This gives them a chance to learn from their experienced seniors in the industry, right from the comfort of their home. Similarly, the users are benefited by downloading the high-quality images uploaded by the contributors for free, which would otherwise break their bank if they purchase it from other similar websites.
The two Adobe professional software programs that have ruled the photo editing industry since years are Lightroom and Photoshop. Although they might appear similar from a distance, these programs have different potentials to professionally edit high-quality images. Every feature of Lightroom seems to be available in a more compartmentalized form in Adobe Photoshop. For light edits, Lightroom is used by photographers around the world as Photoshop remains reserved for professional edits.
PixaHive teaches the already skilled photographers to make the most of their images without any fees. These editing skills will help them in improvising the quality of their shots to a highly professional level, just like the ones used by modern photo studios and experienced photographers. Right from scratch, the Photoshop text course will teach the important concepts and terminologies relating to the app in a simplified manner. Within weeks, the learners will confidently create unbeatable professional quality images using the software.
Adobe Photoshop is one of the most expensive editing software programs in the market today. Rohit says that the website will work on creating such text tutorials for other free photo editing software programs which will benefit the contributors who don’t have the privilege of using such expensive programs.
Currently, PixaHive is accepting contributions for its national-level photography contest which will continue till September 20. The platform has already received thousands of submissions from different parts of the country and it is set to receive many more.
