Since the first diagnosed case of coronavirus, the world has now reported more than 100 million COVID-19 cases. On Tuesday, the total number of cases globally reached around 100,032,461 and around 2,149,818 deaths are also reported.
Three countries- the US, India and Brazil are the top three affected countries globally. Currently, these three countries are accountable for more than two-fifths of all cases worldwide.
The US is the most affected country as it has already recorded more than 25 million cases so far. Moreover, the country has seen more than 400,000 deaths as well.
India is the second worst-hit country as they have reported more than 10 million cases with more than 150,000 deaths.
As for Brazil, the country has reported fewer cases than India, but they have already seen more than 217,000 deaths.
In January 2020, Asia continent was one of the most affected regions worldwide. By March 2020, Europe and the American continent took over and recorded sharp rises in the COVID-19 cases. As a result, the WHO declared the unknown ‘viral pneumonia’ as a global pandemic.
However, a mass vaccination roll-out programme is currently ongoing in all major countries.
How the pandemic affected us globally?
Currently, many major countries like the United Kingdom are under their third lockdown. The governments had to force people worldwide to stay at home and follow the lockdown rules. While going out, wear masks, stop shaking hands, and maintain a social distance are some challenges in this pandemic.
Indeed the COVID-19 has affected all lives drastically in every country and has thrown some unseen challenges in front of humanity.
