The story of Rebecca Mardikes can serve as inspiration to many people who seek to make it in this world. Certain elements are required for sustained success, and Mardikes checks every box. Ambition, intellect, motivation, and an unrelenting work ethic are some of the qualities that have shaped the top model into who she is today. Mardikes is now a staple in the fashion world, but her rise to prominence can be traced back to her humble beginnings in the Midwest.
Mardikes grew up in Kansas City, and was raised by her father who was a college professor- always pushing her to exceed her limits. Mardikes’ younger brother was also a big part of her life, so she made sure that everything she did could serve as an example to her younger brother, who always looked up to Mardikes as a role model.
Mardikes always excelled in both academics and athletics while in school, taking college courses at the young age of 15. She went on to get her Master’s in journalism from the prestigious University of Missouri, known as the best journalism program in the country- she got her Masters of Arts at 22 years old. Sports was also of paramount importance to her development, as she could have become a professional soccer player or a competitor at the Olympics at the High Jump event. She played soccer all her life, and was the third overall recruit in the country in track and field. Our youth often shapes who we become in adulthood, and Mardikes’ unbridled ambition and competitive spirit is what led her to become who she is today.
Once Mardikes finished graduate school, she was eager to try her hand at the big city lights, as she moved to New York City to work for a leading fashion PR agency. Mardikes was modeling since she was 18 years old, so it made sense to combine her modeling career with her expertise in journalism. She worked for the PR agency for several years, fostering relationships with well-known brands and individuals in the field- this made her realize that modeling was her true calling. She also had an internship for the famed Rebecca Minkoff, and did private modeling for the brand during her internship. Her work in fashion PR facilitated her modeling career, giving her the opportunity to work with major fashion and beauty brands. She worked with the likes of Athleta, Edition Hotels, Drunk Elephant, Express, Lee Jeans, and Lucky Brand- just to name a few.
Working with such prominent brands and being featured in top publications like Vogue, Harper’s Bazaar, InStyle, and ELLE Magazine- Mardikes knew that her time had come to transition fully into modeling. Mardikes had been wildly successful in all her previous ventures, and now it was clear to her that it was time for this Midwest talent to become one of the top models in the industry. Suffice to say, Mardikes has achieved her goal. She has been a highly sought-after model ever since she made the full transition, being featured in world-famous events like: New York Fashion Week, Miami Swim Week, and Paris Fashion Week. Mardikes is now enjoying the fruits of her success of being a top model, traveling the world to exotic destinations and experiencing the finer things in life. However, modeling is just an avenue for Mardikes to achieve her real goal- a charity for children that have been involved in domestic violence.
Mardikes wants to leave her mark on the world, not just by doing awe-inspiring photoshoots for people to marvel at, but by helping people in need. During her youth, Mardikes was always giving her time to volunteer to help underprivileged children. She was also a big proponent in her sorority to make it a point of emphasis to always volunteer their time to tutor kids, and help in any way possible. Mardikes has flourished at everything she aspired to achieve, and is now looking to give back- the world would be lucky to have more people like Rebecca Mardikes.
When Mardikes is not participating in jaw-dropping photoshoots, she has a wide range of hobbies. She loves to travel and try new food, as she is inspired by the various cuisines she has tried around the world. She has an insatiable sweet tooth, and loves formulating new recipes to bake cakes and other dessert dishes.
Mardikes has traveled the world during her studies abroad and modeling, and speaks multiple languages. When she is not cooking up her next masterpiece, Mardikes enjoys participating in events that get her blood pumping and pulse racing. She loves to jet ski, ride in helicopters, and jump out of planes. In her spare time, she enjoys writing, journaling, reading, and writing Haiku style poetry. Rebecca Mardikes has been the pinnacle of success throughout her life, and it will be a blessing for the children of her future charity to have Mardikes in their life.
