Mojang, who is the developer of Minecraft said that there will no longer be a super duper graphics pack. There was an announcement at the E3 2017 about the graphics pack. But due to some technical difficulties, Minecraft Super Duper graphics pack is officially canceled.
This graphics pack had many features to die for. It had realistic lighting and shadows, reflective water surfaces and flora and fauna. Moreover it had a full 4K resolution for devices like the Xbox one X.
Mojang made a statement on the cancellation of Minecaft’s graphic pack, and revealed how they want to share more on the subject. “Minecraft is available in wide range of platforms and we are constantly trying to make the most of the technical architecture of each one. We will be able to share more on the subject very soon.”
The developer mentioned in his statement that the “pack proved too technically demanding to implement as planned”. And they planned the release of the pack in fall 2017 but it shifted to 2018. And now its cancelled for good.
Minecraft is widely popular due to its low resolution graphics that work smoothly in any device. May it be android, Rasperry Pis or Nintendo Switch. Now when Minecraft intended for an ultra realistic update it created severe problems. And that’s no surprise.
Their statement gives hope that all graphical updates are lost. There might still be hope. Minecraft’s failure stems from their sudden demand to upgrade when they always were masters of low resolutions.
