The duo is back with a new acoustic-style single. It’s been in nearly a year since their last release, the song arrives later this month.
Carlos Dashawn Daniels Moore has matured since then and is now a newly father. With all these adjustments comes a new set of trite reflections about love, life, and partying amid unspecified and synthetic pop music.
Tribe Mafia has announced that they will be releasing their first single of 2022 since “Hurt” from 2020’s It’s a tribe ting (album- single). Their upcoming song, “Sound of a Heartbreak,” will arrive on February 14th via Distrokid, Tribe Mafia Entertainment (Publishing). The rappers teased a brief clip of the song via Instagram and Twitter and on other social media platforms.
“We’ve been working relentlessly in our home studio over the recent months, and we absolutely cannot wait for you guys to listen to ‘Sound of a Heartbreak,’ Dashawn Daniels and Chinasa Broxton said in a statement. “We always aim to push ourselves and our music in new directions. Hopefully you guys hear those efforts on this new single. It feels right to be back, it’s lit! Shout out to Michael “Killeen Austin” Johnson he plays a huge role in our growth, gotta respect his pen, creativity and workflow. We also wanted to give a special thanks to Jess T. Johnston with KSG HAWAII for the amazing graphics he did for us on the cover art for this song. We have so much new content we can’t wait to share so stay tuned…It’s going to be a phenomenal year.”
“Sound of a Heartbreak” is a spineless blast of lovestruck pop, with Tribe Mafia crooning over crunchy handclaps, plucky strings, and the bright strum of their guitar. The track arrives with a fantastical whirlwind of romance that involves everything from waiting anxiously for a text to begging for attention. This song takes the behavior of its title, “Sound of a Heartbreak,” and tries to freeze a vision of candlelit desires into amber.
