Hailing from the Bronx neighborhood of New York City, Fenzrir has been exposed to a melting pop of people, cultures, and the music they carry with them. The inspiration that Fenzrir gained from the many individuals he met fueled the passion and creativity that he needed to pursue his musical passion fully.
“The hardest topics for me to write about are generic things, such as using guns or money. I am too prideful to fall into that same and repetitive topic these hip-hop artists usually talk about.” Fenzrir shared this thought in response to challenges that he has found himself facing as a songwriter and an artist. Currently creating music that blends the genres of metal, rock, and hip-hop, Fenzrir is at the forefront of forming a brand-new subgenre in rap, and he is well aware of his position.
Self-describing his sound as being “tracks layered with a gossamer vocal and a Viking touch that commands the listener’s full attention,” Fenzrir’s rock-rap approach to his music feels like Slipknot attempting hip-hop. His most recent single, Berzerker, builds off the primal feeling and metal-infused production, accredited to Fenzrir’s frequent collaborator, Fleece. Halfway through the track, Fenzrir’s vocals seemingly rise from the ashes to attack over the top of the beat, drawing in the listener’s curiosity. Recently signed to Bentley Records, Fenzrir is now at work on his next project, which is aiming to, once again, further the idea of genres in the music industry.
