Dal Dhaliwal is a woman with quite the impressive career resume. She is a women’s wellness and business coach, media personality, business owner and, of course, the founder of the Female Success Club, an online community that provides mentoring and coaching for female entrepreneurs.
Dal’s business journey started in 1996, within the fitness industry. “Dance and fitness were two of my biggest passions at the time,” Dal says. “I was so lucky to find myself in a job that I could do what I loved every day.” Her time as a personal trainer, dance instructor, and sports tutor also instilled another passion within Dal – teaching and helping others along their own wellness journeys.
In 2010, Dal took a leap of faith and launched her own personal training studio and gym. “This made me one of the first British-Asian women to launch a gym in the UK,” Dal says. “What was new territory for me as being a business owner made me even more determined to be successful, so I could serve as a role model to other women who identify as minorities.” Her extensive career in the industry had already established her as a highly respected lifestyle and wellness expert, and Dal soon had many new clients wanting to work with her. To accommodate demand and time constraints, Dal decided the best way forward was to create coaching programs for her new clients to follow.
It soon became apparent to Dal, however, that in order to grow her wellness business and reach a global audience, she needed to bring the business online. “I had vast experience in sales from my previous roles in wellness and in the retail industry but very little in marketing and sales online,” she says. “I spent so many late nights watching video tutorials, listening to podcasts, reading books and attending seminars with industry leaders, educating myself on all things business, digital media, marketing, PR, branding etc, and this is when my interest in entrepreneurship grew,” Dal recalls.
Soon realising that she was quite good at all the ‘online stuff’, Dal combined this with her popularity and influence she had carefully built on social media to open doors to opportunities and collaborations. “I got to consult, speak, host and present at events and conventions within the wellness and business arena,” Dal exclaims happily, “And it never would have happened had I not been constantly thinking ‘where can I take my business next?’”
In 2013 her career shifted in a very unexpected way. “I was very fortunate to be headhunted on social media by a TV producer,” Dal says. This pleasant twist of fate gave Dal access to some of the most renowned media coaches, TV & radio producers and leaders within the wellness and business arena. “Being mentored by these leaders of industry gave me the knowledge and confidence to go on and host my own TV and radio shows,” Dal says. Now the host of Dal TV and Unlock Your Potential Podcast, Dal wants to share her experience and success with others.
“This past year has been an unconventional and uncertain one,” Dal says. “I was luckily in a position where I was already making my income online, but it made me worry for all those that found themselves unexpectedly unemployed or unable to perform their jobs from home,” she says. With this in mind Dal decided to create a digital platform that would help women become able to successfully start their own businesses from home, whilst supporting them within their personal and professional lives.
The Female Success Club’s mission is to help women improve in all areas of their life; body, mind, performance, relationships, business and so much more.
